Charity Dinner & Art Auction raises £3095 for Kickstart Community Programmes Ltd

Kickstart Community Programmes Ltd are proud to announce that over £3000 was raised from the charity dinner and art auction organised by HudsonMackay Artists’ Collective at the exclusive Walnut Club in Hathersage on Monday 16 July 2007.

Guests of honour was The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Arthur Dunworth and The Lady Mayoress Councillor Mrs Kathleen Chadwick who joined over 60 guests to bid for original oil paintings, photography and illustrations from both emerging and established British artists.

The evening included live music by The Lounge Lizards, art auction hosted by comedian, magician and auctioneer John Archer, a raffle and a delicious three-course meal prepared by The Walnut Club’s head chef, Nick Wilson, who worked for seven years alongside TV celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli.

Christine Tooze, Chief Executive of Kickstart Community Programmes Ltd commented, "We are thrilled with the support given on the night. The money raised will help us develop our Art Therapy workshops and the other projects we carry out."

Background information:

Kickstart Community Programmes Ltd is a voluntary organisation with charitable status. The programme was established in 1995 and has evolved from what was originally a drop in centre to the structured day care provision it is today. We have supported and worked with over eight thousand people to date locally in and around Sheffield and up and down the country. Over that time, we have raised over £1.4 million to fund the project until becoming statutorily funded through Sheffield pooled budget monies in April 2002.
